Support Ministries
Caring for one another through every season of life.
Life brings many different seasons, and you do not have to walk through them alone. At Bethany Christian Church, our support ministries are here to offer comfort, companionship, and spiritual care when you need it most.
Bereavement Support Group
Since 1993, Bethany Christian Church has sponsored a monthly Bereavement Support Group to help individuals navigate the journey of grief. This ministry is completely free and open to anyone in our local community who has experienced the loss of a loved one.
We meet on the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Fireside Room. Throughout the year, our meetings include a variety of supportive programming, such as:
- Special guest speakers
- Grief recovery videos and resources
- Annual memorial services
- Open times of sharing and mutual encouragement
If you or someone you know could benefit from a safe, supportive space to process grief, please feel free to join us at our next meeting.
Care Ministry
Our Care Ministry Team is a dedicated group of volunteers passionate about loving and supporting church members who are shut-in or unable to leave their homes. Our volunteers work to ensure no one in our church family feels forgotten.
Our regular care initiatives include:
- Making consistent, friendly home and care-facility visits
- Delivering communion directly to shut-ins in their homes
- Celebrating special milestones like birthdays and anniversaries
- Organizing special ministry projects during the holiday seasons
The Care Ministry volunteer team meets twice a year, on the fourth Tuesday of March and September, to coordinate care efforts and plan upcoming holiday projects.
Loved Ones at Home
Bethany Christian Church care ministries support a team of members who serve our Loved Ones at Home (LOAH). This ministry team provides contact, encouragement, and ministry to those who are temporarily or permanently at home, hospitalized, or living in a facility.
Church members, who are temporarily or permanently unable to attend Sunday school and worship due to health reasons, receive spiritual encouragement and maintain their identity and fellowship with Bethany. Any physical and personal needs that could be met by team members or Bethany members, providing they cannot be met by the LOAH’s family, will be identified for appropriate support.
