Todd Davis
Todd grew up at Bethany and has been a baptized believer since 1976. He and his wife Jerilyn were active members of Bethany’s youth group and were married in 1984 here at Bethany. They have 3 children and 2 grandchildren, who also attend Bethany. Todd has served in many roles in our congregation, including: deacon, deacon chairman, properties team member & chairman, and greeter. Todd is the owner / operator of a local second-generation family excavating company. He enjoys spending family time with Jerilyn and the kids / grandkids, camping, traveling (cruising).
Gary Flowers
Gary grew up at Bethany and was baptized during Vacation Bible School in 1962. Gary and Brenda, married since 1971, have two children and three grandchildren. Gary’s passions are discipleship and family. He has served as a deacon, elder, youth teacher/sponsor, choir member, small group leader, and participant on the outreach ministry teams of baseball, basketball, and racquetball. Gary recently retired from a 40-year farming career. He served his local community as a dedicated fireman for several years, including 10 years as fire chief.
John Longnaker
John was baptized at Bethany in 1980. He and Amber, married since 1996, have three children. John has served as a deacon, teaches/ coordinates children's Sunday School classes, plays drums for worship services, and participates in adult Sunday school class & a small group at Bethany. He enjoys baseball, sailing, fishing, reading, music, Scotland, zoology and science. John graduated from law school in 1993, is a Certified Elder Law Attorney, and is an accredited Veteran's attorney. His law practice is limited to estate planning & administration, elder law, and special needs.
Ralph Marcum
Ralph and his wife Sharel began attending Bethany in 1999. He has served as an elder, member of Missions Team, and helped with VBS. He is a graduate of Frankton High School, and he graduated from a 4-year program to obtain his Journeymen carpenter. He has worked as a superintendant for Duke Realty Construction Company for the past 20 years. He and Sharel have been married 42 years. They have 3 daughters, 2 sons-in-law, and 5 grandsons, all of whom attend Bethany. Ralph enjoys spending his free time with his family, attending various sports with their youngest daughter, Loudnie, and his 5 grandsons. Big family vacations and mission trips are his passion.
Ted Mitchener
Ted and his wife, Valerie, have attended Bethany since 1993. They have two sons and three grandchildren. Ted has served as youth coach, deacon, missions team member, and Sunday school teacher for college age students. He currently serves as choir member, handbell choir member, praise band member, LifeGroup leader, and basketball outreach co-coordinator. Ted enjoys camping, basketball, racquetball, and working outside around the house.
Darren Odom
Darren has lived in Anderson his whole life and began attending Bethany in 1981. He & his wife, Tracy, met as part of Bethany’s youth group, were married here in 1991, and have raised their two children here. Darren has been a deacon, greeter, youth coach, Sunday School teacher & and life group leader. He graduated from Highland High School &amp and Franklin College, and he has worked most of his adult life at the student loan servicing company currently known as Navient. Darren enjoys sports, trivia and traveling to warm places.
Matt Riedner
Matt and his wife, Mica, have attended Bethany since 2004. Matt has served as a Deacon, sung with the Worship Team & Worship Choir, served in Children’s Ministry, and currently serves as co-leader of our Blessings Ministry. Matt is Head Instructor of Anderson Christian Martial Arts, works as Guidance Counselor at Shenandoah High School, and teaches part-time at Ivy Tech Community College. He is also involved in the direction of the Christian Black Belt Association, a martial arts ministry started by his father, Clement Riedner, in 1970. Matt & Mica have a daughter Madalyn, three dogs and a horse.
Dave Rowlen
Dave and his family began attending Bethany in 2000. Married to Penny since 1986, they have two children. Amanda followed in her mom's footsteps and is a school teacher in Alexandria. George graduated from Ball State with a psychology degree. Dave has worked with the youth group here at Bethany. He and his family raise money for the charity Life Water International. Dave has worked in banking here in Madison County for several years.
John Sandlin
John and his wife, Lea Ann, have attended Bethany Christian Church since 1984. He previously served as a deacon and has served as a Sunday School teacher and Elder for many years. John is a certified public accountant and is accredited in business valuation. He has a daughter, Laura, and a granddaughter, Aleya. John enjoys spending time with his granddaughter, ballroom dancing, hiking, softball and basketball.
Dwayne Smith
Dwayne has been a member of Bethany Christian Church since 1995. He was born and raised in Anderson and works as a physical therapist. He and his wife, Tracy, have two children, Shannon and Isaac. At Bethany, Dwayne has been involved in Children’s Ministry, small groups, and as co-teacher of the Pathfinders class. In his free time he enjoys travelling, running, gardening and hiking.
Barry Wilson
Barry has been a member at Bethany since January 2002. He has served as deacon, been involved with the children’s ministry, taught adult bible classes, and served on the finance committee. Along with his wife, Teresa, he has three great children and two wonderful stepchildren, but their latest reward in life has been their grandson, Landon. Barry has been a retail business owner almost his entire adult life, but hopes to eventually leave the business world a few years down the road and fully commit to volunteering and ministry.
